Dr. Lauren Rotenberg is a contemporary art historian specializing in international contemporary art.

A former professor with a PhD in History of Art, she runs a boutique advisory service for collectors building and refining post-war and contemporary art collections across North America and Europe.

Background

With over two decades of experience across institutional and commercial contexts, her work spans academia, curatorial practice, and the art market.

She was core faculty in the MA Contemporary Art program at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, University College London, and Goldsmiths, and has curated and led programs at Tate Britain, Gasworks, and Camden Arts Centre.

Her advisory work supports collectors in developing focused, high-quality collections with long-term cultural and financial significance.

Speaking & Appearances

Lauren delivers talks for private banks and advisory groups such as HSBC and Ernst & Young. She presented talks and on panels with organizations including the Association of Art Historians and the College Art Association.

Lauren appears in the documentary Drift, which premiered at SXSW in 2026.
